I has improved a lot. Back in the early Seventies, that was a very rough place, I know that for a fact!

I still wouldn’t venture into Roxbury for anything at all, but there are parts of Dorchester that are reasonably safe.

There's a guy I know socially who is a plumber. He's lived all over Boston. A couple of years ago, he told me he was living in Dorchester.

I raised an eyebrow. He replied, "I'm not on the lootin' and shootin' side of town." So, it varies.
