Thing is I’ve heard from several people Solo is actually pretty fun. Good even.
This is all blowback from the Force Returns SJW garbage.
Heard it referred to as soy wars.
Force Returns was pretty bad on that front.
The movie is meh... it’s not bad, doesn’t quite work as well as it should and the L3 character is purely a political kludge but nowhere near the whole Asian and black man subplot of the last film
The film is flopping because the last mainline movie was so bad and the rightful criticism by fans against it was called names by those who made it.
Basically a good bit of the Star Wars fan base decided enough was enough.

Upon seein add on back of my cereal box.
She was ‘forced to go’
Is the only one movies she has seen.
‘At least the movie theater. Served food’
And had nice seats !
She ate her meal and then fell asleep on her mother’s shoulder about 30 minutes in.
Said ‘her mother has pictures !
Thus ends the unsolicited review ...
I think that makes the movie less than one star in her opinion.

The worst performing books in the now legends releases were the Solo oriented prequels. Don’t know a single person who really desired to know more about the character.
Time will tell. Last Jedi did no favors to the property, but I really think subject matter was more the issue here.
It’s “OK”. I got the screener being a Disney production friend.
Usually Im the first here to review and get riled up when my leftard radar spots lefty talking points in the movie. The guy who plays Solo, is alright. He ain’t a stiff but the rest of the cast are stiffs, except for Clark. She’s alright but an actress with no range..
The Last Jedi indeed is the reason for this - not this movie in of itself. I might rent Solo at Redbox...maybe. But I won’t spend a penny on another Star Wars film at a theater if this group remains in charge of LucasFilm.
Ron Howard has been directing movies since the mid-70s. He knows a thing or two about filmmaking.
But you can’t save a bad script/plot/casting.
