. As valedictorian of his high school class, Ben Bowling thought a lot about what he would say in his speech at graduation. The high school senior from Bell County, Kentucky, stepped up to the podium and offered some words of wisdom for his classmates and their families.
"This is the part of my speech where I share some inspirational quotes I found on Google," Bowling said. "'Don't just get involved. Fight for your seat at the table. Better yet, fight for a seat at the head of the table.' - Donald J. Trump."
The crowd erupted with applause. Then Bowling interrupted their cheers.
"Just kidding," Bowling said. "That was Barack Obama."
The 18-year-old said after he revealed it was not Mr. Trump who said the quote, but actually Mr. Obama, the crowd quickly went silent.
Bowling, who graduated on Saturday morning, said he "didn't mean anything bad by it" and thought the moment was lighthearted and funny, the Louisville Courier Journal reports. "I just thought it was a really good quote," Bowling said.

Because it was an attempt to make the Trump clappers/supporters look foolish because they couldn't identify this quote as his.

Obama in school
Somebody should explain to young Master Bowling that the difference is Obama has to "fight" to get to the table, while Trump earns his place.

Yeah dude, Obama said a lot of things. Most of it lying garbage.
Zero was always good for talk. Bubba, too. But words are meaningless unless backed up by action.
Slow Fake News day!
“If They Bring a Knife,
You Bring a Gun!”
BHO.
Still a good quote
“I Like to Watch T.V.”
Chauncey
See I would have though Obama would say something more like The despair is there; now its up to us to go in and rub raw the sores of discontent, galvanize them for radical social change.- Saul Alinsky
Jokes on you...you live in Meth-land, USA.
“Fight for your seat at the table”???
This is the mindset of thugs or savage, it’s no surprise it comes from Obama.
No fully civilized human should find this quote great. At the table, we are taught to share, not to fight. If someone has to fight for his seat at the table, he should NOT be at the table at all.
Problem is NOT the words he said in public.
Problem is, when his words were AGAINST America or American values, business or industry and good works, ethics or morals or integrity and good judgment or Christianity or God, he MEANT THEM with all of his heart, mind, and body.
When his words were FOR America or American values, business or industry and good works, ethics or morals or integrity and good judgment or Christianity or God, he was deliberately deceitful and he meant NONE OF THEM.
Bookmarked.
My first takeaway is that’s not that great inspirational a quote. Then I’m like, ok, Trump didnt say it.
“My takeaway from this is that a heck of a lot of 18-year-olds really like President Trump”
Also was my first thought. And with poor sound quality at these events, they might not have heard the actual quote, just at the end where he said ‘Donald J. Trump’ - so applauded for that reason alone.
But the quote didn’t sound like something President Trump would say IMO.
My daughter grew up with this kid in school and he actually comes from a nice family. They are democrats but for democrats they are actually civilized church going folks. I have wanted to ask them so many times how they can be faithful church members and reconcile abortion, homosexuality and the democrat party but have kept my mouth shut. This kid came of age in 2008 with obama and his problem is he takes all the crap he see’s from CNN,MSNBC, social media and runs with it and doesn’t engage his brain before his mouth.
His older brother and my oldest son nearly came to physical blows in 2004 over Bush/Lurch campaign in grade school. But later became friends and spent lots of time together fishing and such, but never changing each others political beliefs and eventually they just stopped talking politics. This kid hasn’t learned that yet. He will flourish in college where fellow snow flakes will gather.
The ol’ Hannity Hook. Works both ways.
