I have a couple of relatives in prison for doing this to a church where one of them was employed as a bookkeeper. They stole better than $100,000 over a period of about 3 years.
They actually tried to raise “shoddy controls” as a defense.
One got 4 years and the other 7.
Knuckleheads the both of them.

At least they have to pay for their crime so maybe they will learn their lesson.
