Charlie Watts is in some ways the most interesting of the Stones. His real interest is jazz, and IIRC he took the Stones gig just because he needed to pay some bills. That probably worked out better than he expected. You may notice that he’s a dapper dresser unlike the others.

I still chuckle at the story Keith tells of the group partying excessively one night - except for Charlie, who had gone to bed much earlier.
Mick called him at 3:00am and said he “wanted to party with ‘his’ drummer.”
Charlie got out of bed, shaved, took a shower, put on a custom made suit and Italian shoes and met Mick in the stairwell where he slapped him and said
“I am not “your” drummer”.
