I first came across the gun in a old "Ashton-Kirk" mystery novel. Had to look up what an "automatic revolver" was.

The Webley-Fosbery was a favorite of British officers (who had to buy their sidearms) until the mud of the WWI trenches spotlighted the limitations of the design.

Reminds me of a bit by a comic (I don’t remember which one) of how as a kid he was watching some actor on TV and his dad said “He’s gay!”. He grew up thinking he was gay, and told people he was. Years later he told one of his friends, and his friend told him he isn’t he has a wife and kids. He asked his dad why he told him that, his dad said “I don’t know, he seems gay”.
