Amen. For me this does not compute. It was a far second place from the Original Star Wars movie, but it was quite a lot better than anything which followed.
After the original movie, the Star Wars franchise went through increasing levels of suckage with each subsequent iteration.
I actually liked the original Stars Wars the best, and then Return of the Jedi.
I thought the scenes where Luke was resisting the Emperor and then the fight scene with Vader were the highlight of the movie.
Some of the story lines of the more recent ones could have been really good, but it seemed that the pointof some of those movies was just to show off the CG skills. If you can wow them with special effects, then it doesn’t matter if the story line sucks.
I guess inmy book, that’s the appeal of the original three movies, the simplicity of them.
