I watched the video. Seems to me the autopilot might have put the drivers in bad situations and then saved the day. There really isn’t much video of what was going on before the crash avoidance maneuvers. All the video shows is the system is capable of executing some crash avoidance maneuvers.
The NHTSA found that Tesla cars with Autopilot activated have 40% fewer accidents.
