With all the broken shells, I decided to make my tacos in a bowl 20 years ago... doubtful I’m the only one.
I’d try that.
When Dad got promoted, chipped beef in SOS was replaced by ground beef. Toast was replaced by homemade biscuits. Movin’ on up!
;^)
Since when are Freepers required to read the articles?
;-)
Soul food?
Them royals is “movin’ on up”.
Kinda cheesy for a ‘royal’ do.
I bet her wedding dress is wash and wear. I don’t bet on a long marriage for them.
Throughout world history many countries have been prosperous and happy. These times people eat food on plates. Meats that keep to their own shape, fresh and whole fruits and veggies that stay on another side of the plate. Dry surfaces to take in spices and seasonings.
When countries are destitute and poor, the people switch to bowls and finally... their hands. The food is more of a “Cake”(Let them eat cake isn’t about baked goods). Bowls hold the chaff better than plates.
The transition from plates to bowls is more important than many realise. Like the appearance of tattoo parlors, tanning parlors and nail salons means your neighborhood is no longer safe. Pitbulls at the kennels and grilled cheese sandwich restaurants. All of these are signs that we are getting poorer. But to put a smile on it the socialist/communist will make it cool and trendy.
My mom used to make it when I was a kid. We called it "Frickn' Chickassee"
Speaking of bowls, was a dog bowl put out (at the wedding) for Camilla Parker Bowles, Chuck’s frumpy bed partner?
Not reading the article has never stopped me from commenting!
almost all of my food is bowl food for many years - way before i had any idea it was a fad, ranging from stir fry, to lamb vindaloo, to ham and oyster stew, to pulled pork barbecue and cole slaw, to soups of all kinds ... one of the few exceptions is steak ...
We jest, but there is a lot of truth in what we say.
If a person were to try to read every article posted here, in its entirety, they'd never have time to comment, or even fully digest everything they're consuming.
There's just far too much information being served up, to eat it all.
This is why I like excerpts that briefly capture the most fundamental and important aspects of a story.
Royal Gruel
Nothing but the best for the Royal Navy.
I once asked a mess sergeant what something was, White Cake, white frosting, take one and move out!
