Not to argue too fine a point, since she does a marvelous job bashing the NY Times, but the President is correct - there is no real source for the fake news, since the fake news was, well, fake.
As they say, no publicity is worse than bad publicity.

Well said. WHen the media are not virtue signaling, they are betraying our country.
Yes, the media has made themselves the story. They go on and on about certain vocabulary from certain sources. The media is reporting very little actual news. They are well past the foolish stage.
Without action the NYSLIMES will continue to lie!!! And unfortunately a lot of American Hispanics are falling for the LIE because there seems to be no brakes on these EVIL bastardpukes! Sad!!!
This is why much of the MSM is in serious trouble. Yes the audiences for the broadcast networks (CBS, ABC, NBC) are indeed large though they’ve shrunk.
Now take a look at the average age of their audience. Its over 50! Yes I realize that older people have always tended to follow the news more but its quite striking how pretty much everybody from the last two generations doesn’t trust them and gets their news from other sources - overwhelmingly the internet.
Their credibility is shot and they’ll never get it back. In 20 years their audience will be far smaller than it is even today.
I wasted a whole two minutes of my life tuning into a Showtime series about the New York Times.
Minute one—some white haired Exec is lamenting the paper failed in its mission in 2016 because it lost touch with the American people.
Wow, I thought—somebody gets it.
Minute two—that same white haired guy is leading a staff meeting congratulating the staff on their great stories on Trump and Russia and asking what new developments they have on the story.
Hello! Remote off. End of line.
That place cannot be fixed unless NK hits it.
