Pure speculation on the authors part.
In addition, he leaves out important parts of the story:
In Starbucks, the two men were asked to leave, but refused. Was the author ever asked to leave, but refused?
In the Oakland scenario, was the barbequeing done before or after the city ordinance was passed?
This is manipulating the story to fit the narrative the author wants us to accept.
He has no evidence that white people have bbq’d with coals in that park without incident. I lived for five years literally steps away from that very spot, and I don’t remember anyone ever bringing a charcoal bbq there. Most basically, there isn’t anyplace to dump the coals out.
