The writer observes that “most” middle aged white people loaf in Starbucks for hours without buying anything?
No wonder why the country has gone to hell in a hand basket.
Although I’m middle aged, and haven’t done that yet- I have however spent time in bars and cocktail lounges, if you don’t buy anything there they kick you out regardless of your ethnicity.
I plan to leave a “loaf” at starbucks next time I eat some bad food.
If it were not a convenient place to meet people to transact business I would never darken the door of a Starbucks. I don’t care for their coffee or their political agenda. I do understand that some prefer meeting in a public place and Starbucks stores have become landmarks that are easily found by people not familiar with my area. If I need WiFi I much prefer a public library or even a McDonalds which has better coffee.
my white 48 yr old nephew practically lives in SB and never buys a thing. the atmosphere “helps him think” yes, he’s a crazed big lib.
I do my “hanging out” in Waffle House. I get a cup of coffee for an exorbitant price then sit so long as I like. The coffee is $2 and that is rental on a seat.
