Off topic, but I never understood Uber. Why would you call Uber when you can call a cab? Isn’t Uber just a taxi service which uses an app on a cellular phone?

More reliable during the rush hour and during storms. No tipping, either. My husband says there are add ons like surcharges that people may not be aware of.

In the suburbs I can call an uber and have it be here in 5 minutes. Lucky to get a cab within an hour if it even shows up. You know what fare is going to be when you call it, there is a record of who picked you and there is no need for cash

They come to you - wherever you are, you don’t have to flag them down and (from my experience) they cost about half as much. It’s a flat rate - they take you the absolute best route they can whereas there is an incentive for the cabbie to drive you a round a bit. I don’t know how much that happens but I’ve had my suspicions before.
