About the casting thing: I’ll drop the coyness:
Will the Senate not confirm non-swamp candidates, is why they warn of firing? Because they then go in the [ ]s? Is this whole foot-dragging stalemate based on assassination threat? Horrible prospect, but why is CINC being so PATIENT with the foot-dragging? Until the assassins can be [ ] themselves?
I don't think so, for either the ongoing foot dragging by the Senate to confirm nominees, or the threat to slow walk new nominees for DAG, AG or others if RR / Sessions are fired, or the foot-dragging by Mueller and company to close up his shop.
To me, the stalemates each persist because of natural tension and adversary between the parties.
