In 1984 I was on Tiki 6 a commercial fishing boat that had gone out of Panama City Fl for 2 weeks. Weather turned bad and the vessel was tied up in Belle Pass for a month. The other young guy and I walked up to Golden Meadow and went to work in a Cheramie shrimp packing plant, loading boxes and driving between G.M. and Cut Off. Golden Meadow has been since then my favorite town in the USA. Tiki went back out with new ice for the two week trip but the only money made was what the two of us earned loading shrimp. The 4 old guys didn’t care. They got wine money from the captain.
