It is not at all subtle. The notion that Lorena Fuddy was murdered by a frogman is ridiculous.
Worse yet, it is a distraction from other far more likely scenarios. Yes, I suspect it was an assassination project that went off script. Things just happened to work out for the sponsors because the odds were in their favor from the beginning.
