Netflix has set Jennifer Aniston to play the U.S. president, and Tig Notaro her first lady in First Ladies, a political comedy being written by Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, based on their original pitch. This one’s not your usual White House comedy. First Ladies is a political comedy about America’s first female President and her wife, The First Lady. When Beverly and Kasey Nicholson move into the White House, they’ll prove that behind every great woman… is another great woman.
Pic’s produced by Notaro, Allynne, Aniston, and Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Betsy Koch for Gloria Sanchez Productions. Chris Henchy is exec producer. First Ladies expands Notaro’s relationship with Netflix. Her original comedy special Tig Notaro Happy to Be Here debuts May 22 on Netflix. Notaro will also direct Ellen DeGeneres’ upcoming Netflix original comedy special.

I have Netflix and I think their strategy is to put as much product out there as they can to attract every kind of audience. They are making a lot of content but not being very smart about it. They may have one good movie or series for every three or four greenlighted. I have found some good to decent stuff to watch but there is a lot I have no interest in.
The took a minor Marvel character, The Iron Fist, and made it into a series. It wasn’t bad, kind of hokey at times, but not that bad.
This idiot monstrosity is terrible. Now if the Jennifer’s partner was a killer Lipstick Lesbian, well that would be another matter, but she isn’t.
Netflix is spending money it doesn’t have too. It will be interesting to see what happens to them.

I feel like these are just friendships between two largely a-sexual people and for some reason we have to pretend there is some romantic or physical aspect to them.
Netflix basically has a Negative Cash Flow and yet they are spending something close to $8 Billion this year on programming, more than the Big Studios combined. I can’t see how they are doing it. I would hate to be a Bond holder in that company.
Can’t wait to see the first Lip Lock scene. Wonder if they will engage in on camera gay sex? They should have brought in some of gals from the show “The L Word” of this, they had some pretty good looking babes on that show.
Hildebeast is another great one! I laughed so hard the first time I saw it. Kudos to whoever came up with that one.
