yes, it is kinda hardto wish them a long and happy marriage when it’s started on such an unstable mess of the couple, their families, plenty of other parts of the equation. Seems like just a publicity stunt for all of them.

Not too surprising; there’s a huge contingent of Anglophobes on FR. They are still fighting the War of Independence and fail to acknowledge the contribution(s) to civilization by the monarchist UK over the centuries.
The monarchy lends continuity to the Nation, while the rule makers (government) are elected. Good balance.
Perhaps the snide ones should stop speaking English, dump their Christian affiliation and throw out the Constitution.
