40 years. SW was a phenomenon for 40 years, a cultural modern myth full of hope and morality and good-vs-evil. Now we are watching it utterly trashed but made into a joke. And those to whom it's message actually MEANT something are denigrated and discarded in the process! Intentional, systematic destruction of an entertainment work that the world embraced! How sick is that?
I hope Disney will not focus on 'updating' it's OWN creations. Cinderella became an abused wife cheated on by the Prince, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White(apropos to their names) became promiscuous meth/coke heads. Can't have that old-fashioned, silly happy-ever-after crapola from Disney anymore!
To be fair, Cinderella’s live action update was actually decently handled and stayed true to the spirit of the original.
But yeah, between this and the live action remakes for old Disney films, I’m getting irritated with this trashing of old values.
I’m not sure what to make of their actions to Star Wars. To be fair, even 40 years ago, it was hard-left propaganda by George Lucas’s own admission (basically, tricking audiences into rooting for the Vietcong).
