it is a variation of the famous Patton quote, "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." . However, I do not think that the writers and showrunners would recognize Patton if he walked up and introduced himself.

I do not think that the writers and showrunners would recognize Patton if he walked up and introduced himself. Most people wouldn't, because they think he looked like George C. Scott.

They'd be looking for their safe spaces and comfort animals if he addressed them the way he did soldiers in WWII.
