We are living in the age of the victim.
We live in a culture that worships at the altar of the victim. Americans everywhere are looking for others to blame. If I trip in my neighbor’s yard—it’s his fault. If I hang out at Burger King until I look like a Whooper—somehow Burger King is to blame.
On the surface this may be a comforting approach to life—always having someone else to blame for our own faults, failures, and flaws. But the truth is, it is one of the most destructive and cynical lies out there!
Here’s what it costs us: By refusing to take ownership and responsibility for our own lives—we cede control of our destinies as well. We are, in effect, saying, “That until that other guy treats me right—I won’t be able to succeed.” And, while this is a lie from the pit—it becomes its own self-fulfilling prophesy.

To be a victim you need a villain. The Nazis had the Jews. The Soviets had the kulaks. Every race baiter needs someone to call a racist. Every tree hugger needs a lumberjack. Every global warming alarmist needs a denier. Without someone to point the finger at, and appeal to the ‘us vs. them’ pack instinct, how are they going to get attention?

Yes. The victim blames someone. All men are rapists. White Privilege. Allows them to avoid seeing that they are the reason for their failures.
The left love dividing everyone into victim groups. Everyone but straight white men are victims now.
More than just that. Being a victim also allows them to do things they would otherwise not be able to. To be a villain themselves without being called that. Just as long as their real victims “deserve” it in everyone’s eyes.
