The issue is how to have kids, and not lose everything, and not give up control of those kids to the female.
The legal deck is stacked so high against men in family court that once you have had completed unprotected sex with a woman, you have just exercised the last option you had available to you in the entire process of rearing children.
From there, every option is controlled by the female, and enforced by the court.
