D5 is sometimes used as a chess move descriptor.

Moving your bishop to D5, for example.

It’s in the center of the chess board. It’s one of the key squares on the board you’d need to CONTROL THE CENTER OF THE BOARD.

The D5 thing has remained a brain twister, open to interpretation. Yours is new to me and is the VERY most sensible, given the broad affection for the term 3D Chess going on.

Count me in.

Yes, it can be used in the sense of chess too, especially given the many references to chess and 3D chess. But of late, I think Q referenced things snowballing (or maybe someone interpreted it that way, hard to remember).

I can see both references working - the avalanche strength D5 or the Chess position D5.
