I don't know but I found this. I fell down a rabbit hole about blood and stuff on YY chromosomes popped up about Hemophiliacs. I remembered Q asked about families displaying the Y. Hemophilia is treated at specialized centers in EU and the US (and Canada/Aus/NZ). For severe disease, or patients that bleed a lot (moderate or mild), patient/therapy are tracked closely, if possible. Therapy is very expensive. Adequately treated, a patient will exceed lifetime $ caps, and become an insurance ‘carve out’ or dependent on government $.

Nothing in the paragraph is unusual. Dr. Rothschild I recall as a leader in the field.
