I’ve bought 1 thing from Dicks since they came to town about 10 years ago. And it was something I absolutely looked everywhere for but Dicks had online, shipped to their store, and put together for free for me. A large $500 beach bike that they had on sale for $300. Couldn’t touch one like it anywhere else or I would have moved on.
When I went in to pick it up I noticed our Dicks has mostly clothing. Lots and lots of clothing in the front and middle of the store with golf stuff and bikes on the outer edges of the store.
Yes, they do have a LOT of clothing! I don’t know what state you live in, but I’m 2 hours from the Atlantic Ocean, so the Dick’s around here have a good deal of fishing equipment.
Sounds like you described the Sports Authority stores that closed down a year or two ago. I guess their biggest markup is on clothing/accessories/shoes.
