I was going to make a general remark about foundations yesterday, then decided it would just get lost in the din, so blew it off.
I think it is organic, perfectly natural for foundations, regardless of how started, to degenerate into protecting the prevailing "money interest" status quo. In the modern world, this is the debt-money banking system, which is totally "to the left" if viewed through a political lens - but is in fact politically agnostic. The goal is world domination by a few million elites.
It would be shocking to find a foundation that aimed to topple this structure. FWIW, "foundations" are legal creatures similar to trusts and endowments. A way for a person's will to persist a generation or two into his legacy and posterity. Interesting question ... does the politics control the money, or does the money control the politics? Either way, the people are just manipulated tools.
It seems like a big question people are pondering right now is who is going to start naming the corrupt people and the and the money trail in the Iran deal.
Sadly, the best intentions cannot prevent things from going to hell once the assets are in someone else's hands. I suspect that a great number of the originators of some charitable orgs would, if given the chance, come back and royally kick some asses over what has been done as a result of their altruism (regrettably, others would take pleasure in the mayhem they inadvertently funded). Alas, "He who dies with the most toys wins just handed all his swag to somebody who will do damned well as they please with it."
I know a gentleman who was given a considerable inheritance contingent upon never leaving the Democrat Party. He has a set of somewhat cartoonish relatives who would happily haul him into litigation if he changed registration, therefore he follows the letter of the pertinent will and testament while not exactly following the spirit of the thing.

Interesting question regarding the politics controlling the money or the money controlling the politics. I don't know.
I have been thinking about the difference between evil and unknowing. It is to easy to characterize everyone as either good or evil. I think there is the unknowing. So there is good, evil and unknowing. I started thinking about it when that Kanye West spoke out.
