Are you sure that's what he was staring at?
That moose right there bit my sister.
I want justice.
5.56mm
Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretti nasti.
Deer and elk have been known to jump through windows.
It would be easy peasy for a moose.
I almost got run over by a Moose on my way back to my tent , the ground shook and it went right by me and over a 5 foot fence with 3 strands of barbwire at the top . Next morning I checked the fence ,the barbwire had a bow where it’s gut hit it
She should have asked it to say, ‘Cheeeeesse’!
Then it wouldn’t have bit her!
“They are HUGE............................”
Yes they are. Dad, my brother and I went to Idaho hunting deer and came across a momma and her little one. The youngster was as big as the deer waste were hunting.
the deer WE were hunting. Sheesh!
It was either that or the stereo cabinet. The stereo cabinet was not green and leafy.
Some years back, we went white water rafting up in northern Maine.
They put us on a school bus, and took us upriver about 10-20 miles IIRC, so as we approached the jumping off point, there was an ENORMOUS bull moose standing right on the side of the road. The driver slowed down, and we thought he was just giving us all a good view until we saw a guy standing about 10 feet away from this moose.
It was one of the biggest four legged creatures I had ever seen, with a huge set of antlers, a dumb look on its face, chewing something as it regarded the guy.
We heard the bus driver hiss in a low voice at the guy with the camera “Get away from that moose, you dumb ass!”
Afterwards, he said “Did you see how bored, placid and stupid that moose looked, just chewing? They change from that dumb, placid animal to enraged, human stomping killer in a split second with no warning if the mood suits them. Especially during rutting season!”
He said besides people simply hitting them and getting killed when their car is demolished because it takes out the legs and the moose simply crushes the car, people are occasionally mauled and stomped to death by walking up to them to take pictures.
It’s 2018.
A real estate tycoon turned television star is president of the United States.
Ford Motor company plans to just make trucks and recreation vehicles instead of automobiles.
Very rich people can finally get flying cars.
And
.
The Rocky And Bullwinkle Show is still canceled.
So why are moose populations struggling?
I had to look it up.
Here’s a story from last August about it:
Ticks.
40 percent of the moose calves are dying. One moose calf had 27,000 ticks on it!
Now, the story goes on to blame global warming, er, climate change, as they say Springs and Falls are now warmer so ticks can breed longer but that not true THIS Spring. The whole climate change thing is bogus—the global climate has only gone up .8 degrees Celsius since 1880. Supposedly something that’s GOING to start to really increase but not “yet”.
Still, were there that many ticks centuries ago, before the white man settled in the Northeast? They don’t say.
Had a deer break through a local restaurant’s front window. The next day they put up a sign, “Breakfast For A Buck.”
Drop the mic response. Nothing more to be said here.
Do you have some moose pictures to share?
LOL
That’s making lemonade from lemons!
A local candy store here caught a bear on its CCTV opening the front door (somebody didn’t lock it) coming in and stealing some candy and leaving. Amazingly it didn’t trash the place.
When I was stationed in Anchorage, we had moose come through our yard all the timetheir heads were level with our second-story balcony.
A friend of ours lived in the Chugiak Range and had a cow that was foraging in her driveway for hours. She got mad because she was late for an appointment, so she went outside, yelling and stomping her foot. Needless to say, she was dang lucky the driveway was longshe barely made it back inside when the enraged animal charged.
There were a few people every year killed by them. Moose have no fear.
