Sometimes you can. A girl I knew had known a depressed fellow who set himself on fire. He lived long enough to have the priest hear his confession and pray for forgiveness, perfectly conscious.

I'd be willing to bet that God fully understands that concept of brain disorders and also understands that certain chemical imbalances in the brain can cause *profound* disorders in thinking.My guess is that He would be willing to forgive suicides brought about by such disorders.

Of course that doesn't necessarily apply in *this* case.
