What did Grandpa think of Kohler small engines?

And it would probably be heresy to ask what he thought of Yamaha small diesels.

Grandpa was kool with Kohlers, but I think he liked them better the bigger they were. Interestingly, he said that Clintons were okay, but not as good as a "Briggs." (Grandpa often spoke in shorthand.)

He passed away before the real onslaught of overseas small engines, but I suspect that if something stood up in the long term, he would have been all right with it.
