The transcript from the U.S. Special Counsel -vs- Paul Manafort has been released (full pdf below). The entire transcript of the arguments between the Special Counsel lawyers, Paul Manafort Lawyers and Federal Judge T.S. Ellis III are well worth reading.
As noted yesterday Judge Ellis is the first legal entity to identify the origin of the special counsel investigative authority as a troubling issue. This is likely to become a much bigger story as people catch on to the ramifications.

At the end of the day, it’s quite clear why liberals and Democrats want big government because they need government jobs to earn a living. Sometimes, as in this case, a very nice living without fear of ever getting fired. Total scam. Because they know, if they were to go into the private sector, they’d be done in a week.
Hell, the purest example of that is the State Dept, with all their “made up” jobs, they give their pals. And wouldn’t you know, it’s full of Liberals.
That’s really not that far from the truth. That judge could literally drop the hammer on all of this and end it, with one simple set of instructions....
“I want all the material that you used, from the beginning that shows the timeline and path, of how you went from investigating “collusion-which isn’t a crime” to indicting Mr Manafort. And I’d like ALL unredacted documents and communications between you, your staff, Rosenstein, Wiseman, Page, etc.”

I think they, in all their unchecked arrogance, thought they were going to just steamroll everyone and anyone. They didn’t see the President as legitimate and thought that everyone felt the same way. They expected no pushback.
I don’t know a damn thing about Manafort, but he always struck me as being a really sneaky, political operative. But, at the same time, if that is what he is, then he knows the rules of the game as well as anyone in that cesspool.
He knows they have nothing.
His lawyer knows the games that are being played. on a side note, it wouldn’t surprise me if his lawyer has someone on the inside that can’t stand the cabal.
He has money and can weather the storm and then go after them for malicious prosecution or perjury.
They flat out lied to that judge about the “secret verbal instructions” and he knows it.
I figure that about 20 percent of Americans know and care about what’s going on here. Every single one of them should be scared sh!tless about the door this opens for the average citizen. Any time a government employee or agency has a personal issue with someone, an invisible “super secret, verbal-only authorization” will be pulled out of someone’s ass, and then... watch out.
If Rosenstein, Mueller, et al., are allowed to get away with this, it’s the end of America. “Due process?” I don’t think so.
