My guess is that is NOT why Musk doesn't take a salary. Buffet (agree with you on the d-bag description) is a wealthy man. Musk is a very ambitious visionary. I think his is either ego based OR business based (to preserve money goes into the business and not him just yet) or a combination thereof. Buffett just doesn't need the money.

You are also not talking general wealth. Income DOES mean EVERYTHING when you're generally wealthy. But when you get into the insane amount of wealth that Buffett possesses, it is different. I guess there needs to be another name for that level as it is so very different.
