Now that I think about it, in his biography which he initially tried to stop, the author makes the case that Musk lacks empathy for individuals, especially when they threaten his goals which he may have perceived these analysts as doing. Instead, his empathy seems to be with all of humanity and that’s where his vision comes in. (As an example he wants to make humans a multiplanetary species rather than just launch rockets.)
So this outburst is really nothing new for him, it’s just that it isn’t usually so public.
You are also not talking general wealth. Income DOES mean EVERYTHING when you're generally wealthy. But when you get into the insane amount of wealth that Buffett possesses, it is different. I guess there needs to be another name for that level as it is so very different.
I don't know exactly what you're referring to, but the big three in luxury cars for 2017 were Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. Maybe you're talking about a specific 'size' of luxury car? Or are you talking specifically about 'electric' luxury cars? Anyway, when you receive multiple billions of dollars from the taxpayers you have a responsibility to deliver profitability in a reasonable period of time.

Apple bought the entire US educational market. Once he was in, the education establishment found his progressive policies lined up with theirs. An entire generation grew up with Macs in the classroom those kids gave Apple it’s original base. It wasn’t direct subsidies like Musk, but it was certainly a captive audience courtesy of government schools.
