Don't be so sure of that, Enchante. If you were q Q bird, you would be aware of several Executive Orders Trump signed clearing the way for military tribunals of American citizens for explicitly listed crimes. You aren't so you don't. I'm assuming you speak out of ignorance, so you can be forgiven. Also, just today, work was completed on renovating Gitmo. I think I read something on that today or yesterday.

Anyway. There's so much you people don't know because you don't dig deep enough to know. Then you spout off like everything is ridiculous and why would anybody say such malarkey. Well, lots of smart people say it for a reason. Check it out. Expand your knowledge base and your thinking.

Wellllll I am well aware of some of the updates both physical and policy oriented wrt Guantanamo Bay, and that there have been several Trump EOs of interest. However, Gitmo as a prison (subsequent to the military base) has always been specifically authorized for “War on Terror” detainees who are judged to be “enemy combatants.”

Outside of “Martial Law” (which is not going to happen in the USA in any forseeable context) there is no provision for trying US citizen civilians under military tribunals. You can’t just round up accused pedos, human traffickers, Deep State apparatchiks, et al. and ship them off to Gitmo for military tribunals. You guys really do want a “banana republic” here??? It ain’t happening. These cases will be dealt with in civilian courts within the USA, and of course we all hope there will be a lot more prosecutions soon.

If anyone proposed sending prisoners there who were NOT “enemy combatants” related to terrorism, captured overseas, it would be an enormous political and legal controversy. COngress (both parties) would go nuts, whether you like it or not. I doubt very much it will ever happen. All the storm and drama on “Q” threads does not amount to real policy or to real impending events at Gitmo, which has not received new prisoners in many years.

Every time Q folks claim super duper secret knowledge my b.s. detector goes off. Show us something real, not just what has been discussed uncritically on the Q threads.
