I am would bet that the problem Jackie chan has is the 12 year age difference between his daughter and her girl friend...this relationship looks to me to be very predatory in nature. I am betting dad wants his little girl back minus the girlfriend. I am also betting that girlfriend only see’s easy money and not having to work for nice things.

Where is this going on? In Hong Kong? Sounds like she threw everything away to be this woman, “independence” and “love” valued over security and family. Gay, straight, whatever, the relationship does not sound ethical on the face of it, when you find yourself isolated and in dire straights. Scapegoating “homophobia” is not going to solve your issues.
On the face of it, she’s having trouble coming to terms with her own adulthood and, hey, its a hard process, but I do think it can come. She probably does need solid counseling.
