Somehow the 'ownership' of the event and words others say about the event seems to be a very emotionally laden personal thing for some people--justifying their hostility against those whose opinions about it differ from their own.
It is a sticky wicket to chat about. Recognize that and the fact that nothing will change a mind and you must eventually come to the conclusion that is most apparent.
