If I remember the lecture at the vulcano center 3 or 4 of those large vucanoes are connected deep DEEP Down at a YUGE lava source. Disturbing one may disturb another! We’re there two earth quakes?

HIlo has built a barrior off shore to protect it from a tsunami. And the area close to the beach has not been rebuilt after much of town was destroyed with the last major eruption

The most religious state I visited Prayers before events and public meals. Really nice kind people living in paradise on hellish land

Please keep us posted as to any other events.

I have DUTCHSINSE 3D Live Seismic Stream on. He hasn’t come on for an update, but the comments are interesting. It appears that the magma in the 2 volcano have emptied out and who knows where it went. Scary situation for those living there.

Yes, they reported one before the larger one.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hawaii-earthquake-today-5-6-magnitude-big-island-kilauea-volcano-eruption-continues-live-updates-2018-05-04/

Earthquakes rocked Hawaii’s Big Island on Friday as eruptions at the Kilauea volcano continued. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck the island nearly an hour after a 5.4-magnitude quake hit.

The 5.4-magnitude quake was felt across the Big Island from Hilo to Kona and as far away as Oahu. It added to an already busy day for the Big Island, which is grappling with five separate eruptions from two fissures on the volcano, CBS Honolulu affiliate KGMB-TV reports.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said the second quake wasn’t strong enough to cause a tsunami, and Hawaii’s Department of Transportation said no damage had been reported to roads.

A 6.9-magnitude earthquake shook the Big Island on Friday afternoon, shortly after a 5.4-magnitude quake hit.

The tsunami that destroyed much of old downtown Hilo generated by the 1964 Alaska earthquake, that’s why they built the tsunami wall. No local eruption has caused a big tsunami, at least not in recorded history.

I used to live there and read all the stuff at the park and the whys and whens of the tsunami.
