I saw Dwight in a dive bar (the Drumstick) in Lincoln Nebraska right when “Guitars Cadillacs” was released. It was a great show and he came around and chatted with everyone in the crowd after his set was done.
Lots of cool bands played there back in the day. REM, Joan Jett, and another band I saw there during the college years, the Replacements. I had the unique honor of having Paul Westerburg jump on our table and dump a pitcher of beer on the head of my friend Dave. Ah the memories.
That is one scary list. Add to it anything by Starship in the late 80s and it ramps up to Stephen King horror level!
I agree that SiriusXM still has decent channels; I have a few dedicated favorites that are on my presets. They aren’t the most mainstream and I’m always worried that they might get squeezed out to make room for a Snoop Dogg or Gaga channel.
Preferred him when he was playing with Pete Anderson.
So Cool it Hurts.
Plays country how it used to be. He seems to be in the style of Buck, Merle and Left Frizzell. No white rap with a “tawng” as is today’s country crap.
If you don’t like this song of his......there’s something wrong with you. So much going on in it.....:

I might just take another look at Sirius/XM and overlook it's crappy sound quality.

Very talented performer. I’ll listen to his channel if it comes to broadcast radio, rather than streaming.
In that first picture, he looks just like Lenny Levine, my mother’s real estate lawyer.
Have always LOVED Dwight Yoakam and he was great in Sling Blade. One of my favorite songs and videos he did.
The only time I feel a pain
is in the sunshine or the rain
I dont feel no hurt at all, unless you count when tear drops fall
I tell the truth ‘cept when I lie, it only hurts me when I cry.
