I don’t want to disparage anyone but I’m wondering if the parents were paid to off backed off. They did a total turnaround. If the parents continued to plead for help it would look bad. If the baby was given meds just before he died.....

We had a good friend with ms who was in a nursing home for 5 years. A few months before he died we were told the family (mom and sister) had to make a big decision on what will happen as far as care was concerned. His mom called me and said to prepare to say goodbye. NOTHING changed except he was reaching the 5 year and his money was gone and too much. He mom and sister were tired of it all. We were there when he died. I didn’t realize at first what they were doing. When the nurse told us he had about 2 minutes as she was giving him drugs. I was in shock. My husband was mad at me because I kept asking what they were doing. How this is legal I don’t know.

I know we're all guessing in the absence of clear information, but I wouldn't think Tom Evans would be "paid off." I think it far more likely that the hospital gave him an ultimatum:

• get your supporters to back off,
• disband "Alfie's Army,"
• stop giving interviews
• call off the press
• cease all legal actions with UK or international courts,
• be sweet and say nice things about Alder Hey and the NHS,

... and if you do not, you will never see your son alive again. We can do that. We may not even give you his body.

Simple as that.

That's my guess.
