You got that part right. However, (and this is my last comment on Indiangate) what the Indians did before Europeans came doesn't matter. At the time in history being discussed the Indians had been influenced by whitey from the Spaniards French and Englais. They went with the strong horse language to benefit themselves. I'm sure Texans rue the day that the Comanche caught the first Spanish horse as would the US Army when dealing with the Plains Indians. But the indigenous people caught on and used the white man's science and developed the parts that helped them in their day to day life.
