That car is very capable of being driven 106 mph safely. The car wasn’t the problem here.

That car is very capable of being driven 106 mph safely. The car wasnt the problem here. "Baker drove 106 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Jonesboro Road exit along I-75."
Perhaps we need a few more restrictions before issuing drivers licenses.
1)Must pass a course in Physics
2)Must pass a course in Vehicle Dynamics
3)Must complete three weekends 'community service' acting as 'gofer' and cleanup flunkie at the local Emergency Room in order to see the consequences of not paying attention to Points 1 & 2

Very few cars can be safely driven at insane speeds. Mini-Cooper isn’t one of them.

Back in the late seventies when I lived in a fairly well off area the parents were giving kids who just got their licenses, brand new powerful cars and there was almost an epidemic of crashes with deaths and injuries. This was because the parents thought that they were showing love by giving the kids
things.
The kids neither respected the cars or consequences because it cost them nothing and mommy and daddy were there to pay the tickets and smooth things over.
