We returned home from a twenty one day vacation in the Philippines Thursday and I have a lot of photos and short videos I would like to edit and compose into a story.
I feel like I'm recovering from bad acid.
I have everything mostly on five SD cards and up loaded to my "pictures" in my Windows 7 OS.
I can get them off onto FB, but a piece here and a piece there is not doing what I want.
Will someone direct me to where I can make a "presentation", like what missionaries do in church ?
Thanx.
Probably going back to sleep in an hour or so.
You can mix and mash vids and still pics, import and overdub audio too.
Windows Movie Maker is kinda underrated. When all else fails, use the Windows Movie Maker.
thanx
thanx
I use Movie Maker which might already be on your computer. It’s a Microsoft program, easy to use and free.
bttt
Power point works well. If you want to add narration, download a free program called Powertalk which will display the slides and voice any words you have embedded beneath the image.
With Picasa, you can create a slide show and add music. I think it’s a free download.
A few years ago, the music director of our church presented a slide show about a concert tour the choir had just completed. He created the show using Pro Show Gold to organize the digital photos he had taken. This program costs around $40.
I down loaded it and grabbed seven video clips and just added them one after another..
HOLY MOLEY !
The thing seamlessly put them together and all I had to do was wait for my super speed computer to do it's thing.
MM is the way to go, IMO.
I don’t like ordinary-person presentations with music added. Just one slide after another, please. Narration by the author is good. Captions are good. I use an editor to put captions within the jpeg files so they’re there no matter what means of displaying I use (Shutterfly, Nero, etc).
Speaking of Nero, I swear it loses a little resolution when it displays my pictures. I’ve never found good documentation for Nero MediaHome.
Several years ago, I made a video slide show on my family’s history that featured one slide after another, some with captions, and arranged in chronological order. First, I had some film slides from the 1940’s and 1950’s transferred to VHS video at a camera shop. Then I copied them onto another tape using a high-end VCR that allowed me to add music—in this case, popular songs from the period in which the slides were taken—and titles as well as captions, using a Videonics character generator. Although this was time-consuming, the production was a success.
This was, of course, an analog production using technology which is now obsolete. I have not yet mastered digital video production, but I hope to do so and do similar projects in the future.
First, put your pictures in some sort of order, and write a preliminary script. At this point, consider dropping the weakest pictures.
Simple is good.
Short is good.
Save your very best for last, and leave your audience wanting more, not glad that it’s finally over.
Edit and re-edit till your show is tight and flows well, with no long pauses or delay.
Thanx .... I appreciate that
“in this case, popular songs from the period in which the slides were taken”
I like that idea.
Start your narration with:
“It was a dark and stormy night”
