So true. I loved his car karaoke too, but he is unwatchable.
Tim Conway Jr, obviously a huge fan of classic good comedy, talks nearly every night on his radio show (podcasted on I heart radio) on how he cant even watch late night comedy shows. He is disgusted. He wonders which one will pull away from 100% Trump hatred and realize there is a whole audience of smart Americans out there who dont feel like tuning in to be called idiots nightly. So far, NO ONE.
My son will choose John Oliver episodes for me to watch, that dont deal with Trump Hatred or ridiculous leftist things. I enjoy his humor when hes not leftist. I love when his comedy bits as he is in trying to deliver straight news a la Weekend Update mode, and he cant not smile at his own joke. His little dimples come out and it just cracks me up.
I’m sorry I don’t know John Oliver.
When I read about Conway’s concerns and solutions to late night comedy, I was thinking the same thing.
Wouldn’t it be remarkable if some talented person would arise and do comedy on a middle of the road basis. I accept that journalists cannot be middle of the road (although they should be), but certainly comedians could be.
Like Johnny Carson, Bob Hope, Red Skelton, even George Carlin and Jonathan Winters could be. The art is lost.
I’ll research Oliver. Good to hear from you.
