I split my account with my folks. I don't watch television, but they do and tell me they stream series and watch movies from Prime and love it. I am not happy with the increase, but I'll keep the account for them.

Like many others in this thread, I use Amazon as a Sears catalog and will buy my items elsewhere online if I can find it cheaper. Sometimes I can, sometimes I cannot.

The other savings that is often left out of the calculations is the freedom from having to rely upon brick and mortar stores. The gasoline, the time and aggravation one is spared by shopping online is not insignificant.
