The AMC Eagle was the follow up to the Gremlin. An SUV chassis by today's standards on a bullet proof stretched Gremlin frame and straight six, with locking hubs real 4 wheel drive.
That Eagle was so far ahead of its time. Fantastic car.
Unfortunately most everything from the 70's ignored corrosion technology so they all rust apart.
I saw an AMC Eagle on the road last year. It has that unnaturally high stance for a passenger car. I guess due to the 4 wheel drive.
