More humor. This time from the Reporters without borders. A journalistic version of amnesty international.

Interesting to know that they fling the predictable accusations towards conservative or leftist-taming leaders.

Norway is #1, huh? I wonder what would happen to reporters in Norway who write about certain . . . inconvenient facts.

It us too bad that this suspicion of the press as a political tool has happened so recently.

“The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers.”
― Thomas Jefferson

“I do not take a single newspaper, nor read one a month, and I feel myself infinitely the happier for it.”
― Thomas Jefferson

“… the man who never looks into a newspaper is better informed than he who reads them, inasmuch as he who knows nothing is nearer to truth than he whose mind is filled with falsehoods and errors.”
― Thomas Jefferson, Memoirs, Correspondence And Private Papers Of Thomas Jefferson, Ed. By T.J. Randolph

“Nothing can now be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle.”
― Thomas Jefferson, Memoirs, Correspondence And Private Papers Of Thomas Jefferson, Ed. By T.J. Randolph

Yes, the people are hating media that takes sides and then tries to claim they are being objective.

It is laughable.

Just try to find conservative opinion or reporting in Canada.

It is not done.

Canada under Trudeau has Hate speech codes.

Yet they rate Canada higher than the U.S.

I don’t hate journalism.

I miss it, actually.

I wish it was taught and practiced in this country.

The article managed to totally ignore the big Mockingbird in the room—the manipulation of the media by intelligence agencies.

That has brought the mass media into disrepute.

The average working journalist is clueless, of course.

Stupid people should not be treated with respect either.

How about they consider that poor journalism is a threat to democracy? No. They’ve never been too concerned about facts.

“The unleashing of hatred towards journalists is one of the worst threats to democracies,” RSF secretary-general Christophe Deloire said.

It looks like RSF secretary-general Christophe Deloire needs to take his foolish notion back to the drawing board, take a time out to think through his fallacious argument, and come back with a meaningful plan to produce real journalists.

Does he know the difference between propagandists and journalists?

Most of our USA based propaganda artists know nothing but blind hatred for President Trump, and would flunk out of a real and genuine school of journalism.

A media-bashing enthusiast, Trump has referred to reporters “enemies of the people,” the term once used by Joseph Stalin.

So RSF tries to get away with "guilt by association" where there is not even any association. How very Stalinist of RSF to attempt that.

“The unleashing of hatred towards journalists is one of the worst threats to democracies,” RSF secretary-general Christophe Deloire said. “Political leaders who fuel loathing for reporters bear heavy responsibility because they undermine the concept of public debate based on facts instead of propaganda. To dispute the legitimacy of journalism today is to play with extremely dangerous political fire.”

Crocodile tears much? Since when has 'journalism' been about 'facts'? Either Christophe Deloire is intentionally lying or else he is stupidly ignorant. Most 'mainstream journalism' in the US today is in fact propaganda, with ugly lies being substituted for facts, and with lies of omission being particularly rampant. 'They' think that if they do not report it, they can hide it - 'they' got away with it for a long time, but in the Internet age their choke-hold on reporting has been broken.

If reporters don't like being loathed, perhaps they should try reporting truthfully for a change, instead of pushing ugly leftist agendas.

"A media-bashing enthusiast, Trump has referred to reporters “enemies of the people,” the term once used by Joseph Stalin." Wonder what the writer thinks of dear Uncle Walter and his grand contribution to the profession, eh?

A good example of what you are alluding to. 1998, drudge broke the Monika Lewinsky story. It was well known amongst reporters but it was not reported. Drudge changed all that and when the story was broke it could not be ignored. If it was not for the Internet the Monika story would have been nothing more than a rumor.

Incidentally, I found free republic via a link at drudge.

They don’t get it- the hostility towards reporters is due to the reporters’ themselves- their lack of professionalism, lack of ethics, their blatant bias, laziness, herd mentality, frequent and displays of ignorance, and most of all their arrogant condescending attitudes.

ABDNCBS is not journalism, it is propaganda. Other than Fox News and a few websites there is no real journalism in America.
