What is ITAR and why does the State Department have jurisdiction over it?
Also, I will ask for your analysis because you seem to know about it. Is this swamp cleaning of deep state/Clinton/Obama cronies ya think? I know that's probably a duh, but I'll ask anyway.
ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and the EAR (Export Administration Regulations) are export control regulations run by different departments of the US Government. Both of them are designed to help ensure that defense related technology does not get into the wrong hands.
Seems like a few companies on that list too. Wonder what they did.
I know about ITAR because my former employer beat us over the head with it for months. Engineers usually do not enjoy reading documents written by lawyers. Painful memories.
ITAR controls the export of defense related items or information. Helps keep the good toys away from bad people.
I really do not know why State has control, I can only speculate that they hold the most relevant information on trusted foreign governments and contractors. Other government departments also have some control, but I think the State Department is the primary gate keeper.
I was wondering about the 0 crew as well. The notice is about convictions which may imply that the offenses were under 0s administration. There may be a name on the list with relevance.
