Read the Sharpe series when it 1st came out. Just re-read the whole thing a few years ago. GREAT series.

Between that and the Aubery books by Patrick Obrian hard to say which is better.

I love them both but probably have to go with O'Brien. I love Jack Aubrey and Stephen Maturin! I've read the Aubrey/Maturin series three times and listened to every book at least three times when I was on the road for work.

Have you read any of Cornwell's other works? The Saxon series is outstanding, his Arthurian series is the best handling of those legends I've ever read.
