Manifesto citing Islamist radicalism as driving violence against France’s Jews, including killing of elderly woman, attracts more than 300 signatures
More than 300 French dignitaries and stars, including ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy and actor Gérard Depardieu, have signed a manifesto denouncing a “new antisemitism” marked by “Islamist radicalisation”, following a string of killings of Jews.
France’s Jewish community of more than half a million is the largest in Europe but has been hit by a wave of emigration to Israel in the past two decades, partly due to the emergence of virulent antisemitism in predominantly immigrant neighbourhoods.
“We demand that the fight against this democratic failure that is antisemitism becomes a national cause before it’s too late. Before France is no longer France,” reads the manifesto, to be published in the county’s Le Figaro newspaper on Sunday.
The signatories condemn what they called a “quiet ethnic purging” driven by rising Islamist radicalism, particularly in working-class neighbourhoods. They also accuse the media of remaining silent on the matter.
“In our recent history, 11 Jews have been assassinated – and some tortured – by radical Islamists because they were Jewish,” the declaration reads.
The latest attack to rock France took place last month when two perpetrators stabbed Mireille Knoll, an 85-year-old Jewish woman, 11 times before setting her body on fire, in a crime treated as antisemitic. Her brutal death sent shockwaves through France and prompted 30,000 people to join a march in her memory.

Time for Action, Not Words.
Molins has announced longer prison terms for returning jihadis, of up to 30 years behind bars, instead of the usual 10-year maximum.
This is but one of the recent actions the French have taken. The Brits need to follow suit.
France was the first European country to ban the burqa.
True, but they’ve banned nuns habits too, at least at certain beaches. France is really messed up that way. “Nothing outside the state”. I agree on the ban for full face veils but only as a matter of security.
#4. France was the first European country in WW2 to actively support the Germans via the Vichy Govt (which deported its French Jews to death camps or allowed it).
The French Communist Party was the major CP to betray non-communist French resistance fighters to the Gestapo (The Moulin case for instance), followed by Tito’s “Partisans” army and the Lithuanian/Latvia SS/pro-German units. There also may have been some CP betrayals of resistance fighters in Norway. Some well respected Norwegians are suspected of being Soviet agents as far back as the 1940’s and would be the ones to betray the non-communist resistance fighters to the Germans through secret agreements like those of the FCP.
Lots of little known deals between the Communists and the Germans in Europe and Ho Chi Minh and the Japanese occupiers in Vietnam during WW2. You won’t read about this in our history books because the writers of them are either Marxists, communist sympathizers or just plain incompentent/lazy.
Franco’s “strongman” Spain saved the lives of hundreds, if not thousands of Jews and refused to join Germany in the war against the rest of Europe.
