But, I thought 5:5 was not local.

I thought 5:5 were the 5 eyes of 5 nations who could, by proxy, spy on US citizens, pass that info to a US president, basically reroute all the nefarious activity away from White House to a British spy and Russian connections, whereas, it is supposedly against the law for the Executive Branch (JD & FBI) to spy, surveil, and wire tap a transition of our own and broadly unmask US citizens?

Run on sentence, but does this make sense?

Yes, it makes sense.

Part of it was supplemented by Canada’s Research In Motion (RIM), makers of the Blackberry smartphones.

GW Bush had people arrange with Canada and their darling RIM to push all emails to RIM servers in Canada where the emails could be peeked in on. In the USA, the Fed Gov mandated that all government employees and all government contractors use only Blackberries. RIM’s stock shot up and for awhile Blackberry held market dominance.

Today, they have Zuckerberg, Dorsey, Schmidt/Brin/Page, and several other appointed techie lords act as proxies to do the same.

Only they might have made a mistake. The mistake is that massive lawsuits and class action lawsuits are in preparation to take down the tech punks.
