When IN uniform, you are government-issue, one-each, representing your unit, your wing and your commander, and you will NOT violate Article 128 of the UCMJ. You WILL remove yourself from any conflict (yes, even if it means eating somewhere else) and, you will report that conflict to your commander (immediately upon return to your unit).
If a soldier cannot control their own reactions stateside, how do you think they’re going to handle civilians taunting them and throwing rocks and bottles and calling names at them in theatre? The soldier engaged in unauthorized physical contact with a civilian. End of story.
